City Living became available in my town and I must admit apartment living isn’t much of an interest to me, but the other features that were added did, such as the festivals. In Sims3 the Seasonal Events that were put on at the the parks were a blast, and I’m looking for the same in the Festivals.
So we move over to Tamika’s sister’s house, Greta and we will go to one of the festivals, this being the ‘Love’ festival. Once arriving, it didn’t start off so good, when I had Darin Patel go over to one of the booths, only to have close right in front of him.

Another disappoint. Then noticing there were no other teens around, I had Rex Patel invite all his teen friends to hangout together at the festival. Out of eight or so invites, only three will show up. One of which was his cousin Marisol Patel. When she finally arrived, they did some socializing while being pestered by some other Sim. Just go away.

So Rex got the stranger to go away and he ended up spending some social time with his cousin. Really would of like to have the other teens to show up, but none did. So far it appears to be a event to get together and chat.

Greta Patel finds Belinda Fyres who is dressed up in a special t-shirt, now supposedly there is a way to be awarded this t-shirt, but I have yet to figure that out, or you can just buy it at one of the booths.

Finally another teen shows up, that being Kiley Hanks, where I had Darin perform some of the new interactions with her, such as throw the petals upon her, gossiping about love interactions and the sort. Doing so brought up his romantic relationship with her a tad bit. Doing so, also gave Darin a boost in his confidence in romancing with the girls. Rex looked on.
From Greta’s view, its not much, but a few picnic tables and food booths. There were some areas with the bubble pipe, but in all just a gathering of Sims to perform interactions with. I will need to visit these events a bit more as the come up, there must be more to this.

To say the least, I wasn’t too impressed on my first visit to a festival. Probably just need to figure out what exactly is going on. It was obvious that Belinda was too happy about it either as she stomped her way back home.

I did fixed up the park in Oasis Springs by adding a pool and the new basketball court. Rex and Darin did a round of shooting and Briana Hanks joined in. Darin has a crush on her and would end up spending some time with her in the park.

While Darin spent time wooing Briana, Rex spent some time with a new Sim brought in from the City named Darling Walsh. At first Rex thought she was a boy but found out differently, but she was good with the round ball.

The three continued with the basketball, while Darin noticed Briana being woo’ed by Chandler Holiday in the distance.

With it getting close to dinner time, Darin, Rex, Darling, and Briana formed a group and headed off to the diner. The diner is a venue I built for occasions such as this, formalities is not required.

Getting a table, they sat down and it was burgers all around. Darling ends up a fun sim to hang around with. I did notice that Briana had the wrong hair set on. Something I need to fix.

Meanwhile, Greta was fixing the stereo at home. Greta was a stay at home mother, and has picked up the handiness skill quite well. It is nice to have a Sim stay at the house to keep things in order. Greta household is a pleasure to play with.

Her husband, Watson Holiday, was in athletics and pretty much left the house to Greta to care for. He was only a low level athlete and the income was just enough to pay the bills.

But Greta did maintain a nice garden to which she supplemented the income by selling her produce from the garden.

So Greta and Watson had two boys, Rex and Darin who are now into their teens. They live next to Juanita Holiday’s house which happens to be Watson’s younger sister. Rex wants to have a family just like the one he was raised in. Whereas Darin just wants to be popular. Rex should be hitting on Briana instead of Darin.

The morning has come and the Sims start walking the streets. Here we have the young Carol McMillan walking by the Patel’s house. She is the daughter of Jalisa McMillan who runs the fashion store in town. Jalisa is another set of Sims that play off the main Sims in town.

So it was a school day and about around noon, Darin gets a call for a date with Briana. He couldn’t say no, so the meet up at the fashion store. I don’t know why I accept these type of dates since they always fail.

It didn’t take long for Briana to disappear, so Darin gives her a call. Whats the deal?

They meet up again at the museum and end up spending time looking at pictures of their fore-mothers. I take a lot of photo’s of the Sims, some of which are hung up in the individual house, but as time goes, a new home for the photos was necessary and therefore the museum was built. The first floor basement holds the the many pictures of the previous generations of the Sims.

Then got a cup of coffee at the coffee bar. The two become close friends with a touch of romance.

Invited back up, Briana will end up having dinner with the Patel family.

And end up sleeping overnight in Darin’s bed, even though there was a spare bed available.

The next morning, the boys go off to school, but Briana stays behind. Greta and Watson her her sad stories.

They continued on, and Watson went off to work and Briana finally leaves the house (and hopefully to school), so Greta went out back to tend the garden.

With school over, the family went over next door to visit Juanita and Walter. Watson still had all of Juanita’s wedding pictures in his inventory and needed to hand them over to his sister. They were scattered everywhere throughout the house while everyone chatted away. This also gave Rex and Darin the opportunity to meet their aunt and uncle and cousin Olivia.

Greta and Watson lived together with Juanita and Walter up until they both had kids. With an empty lot next door, a house was built for Greta and Watson to raise their two boys, while Juanita raised her daughter. The Holiday house is big, but not big enough to support two families.
I can’t say I was disappointed with the addition of the City. It does give some new venues to have the sims go to, such as the festivals which occur quite often and the karaoke set was a good add. But the city itself wasn’t too intriguing for me since apartment life isn’t something I would enjoy. Most likely I would be trying to get the Sim out of the apartment and into a house in the suburbs. But I do know there will be a few young sims who would prefer the city life.
Thanks for reading.
